Wholemeal Bread Machine Loaf

Delicious wholemeal bread machine recipe. Full of flavour, this loaf is ideal for making wholesome sandwiches or a great accompaniment to a hearty soup or stew.

Introduction

This bread machine recipe is best made with our wholemeal bread flour. See our other bread machine recipes, such as six seed, cobber, or strong white.

Ingredients

Ingredients for Wholemeal Bread Machine recipe

  • 2 tsp quick yeast (we likes to use Doves Farm)
  • 500g Wessex Mill Wholemeal Bread Flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 340ml water
  • 1 tbsp oil

Equipment

  • 1 x bread machine with large bread pan

Method

  • Put the ingredients into the bread machine pan in the order recommended by the machine manufacturer or the order given in the ingredients list.

  • Turn the machine to the wholewheat rapid setting.

  • Select your preferred crust option if available.

  • Check the pan is locked into position and start the machine.

  • Remove the bread pan from the machine as soon as it has finished baking. This is important, as if left in the machine it can sink in the middle.

  • Tip the bread out of the pan and remove the mixer paddle from the bottom of the loaf.

  • Cool the bread on a wire rack.
