Classic Herb Dumplings

Made with our finest Wessex Mill flour and a blend of traditional English herbs, they rise beautifully as they cook, soaking up all the rich, savoury flavours of the dish beneath. These dumplings are a true comfort on chilly days - warming, satisfying, and wonderfully simple to make. Ingredients

  • 150g Wessex Mill Self Raising White Flour
  • 75g prepared suet
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp dried sage
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 100ml milk

Equipment

  • 1 x mixing bowl

Method

  • Measure the flour, suet, thyme, sage and salt into a bowl and stir to combine.

  • Add the milk, stir to make a dough then divide into 8 pieces.

  • Roll each piece into a dumpling ball.

  • Ensure your stew or the soup is simmering and place the dumplings on the top.

  • Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Best served warm.
